GREENSBORO, N.C. – Salem College women's volleyball (9-3, 1-1 USA South)  rallied from a two-set deficit Tuesday evening to earn a five-set victory over Guilford College (3-10, 1-0 ODAC)  at Ragan-Brown Field House. Ariana Noplos led Salem with a season -high 23 kills while hitting .439, marking her eighth match with double digit kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Guilford 25, Salem 20)
The two sides traded points early before Guilford used a run to create separation, taking a 13-8 advantage. The Quakers later extended their lead to 22-14 before Salem responded with a late push. Kills from Noplos and Tenley McDonald helped Salem pull within four at 24-20, but Guilford closed the set on the following point to take the opener. 

SET 2 (Guilford 25, Salem 18)
Guilford jumped out to an 8-2 advantage and maintained control through the middle of the second set. Salem faced a 24-14 deficit before putting together four consecutive points, highlighted by back-to-back Noplos kills and a block from McDonald and Noplos. Guilford stopped the run on the next point to take a 2-0 match lead. 

SET 3 (Salem 25, Guilford 23)
Needing a response, Salem battled through a third set that featured 13 ties. With the score tied at 19, Salem put together a 4-0 run to take a 23-19 advantage. Guilford cut the margin to one at 24-23 before Tessa Vance delivered the set-clinching kill giving Salem their first set win of the match.

SET 4 (Salem 28, Guilford 26)
The fourth set proved to be the tightest of the night, featuring 16 ties as Salem looked to force a deciding fifth set. Neither side was able to create much separation before Salem came through late, taking the extended frame 28-26 to erase the two-set deficit and send the match to five. 

SET 5 (Salem 15, Guilford 12)
Salem completed the comeback in the deciding set, earning a 15-12 victory to close out the five-set thriller and secure its third consecutive set victory.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Noplos finished with 23 kills on 41 attacks, hitting .439, while adding five block assists.
• McDonald recorded 11 kills and three block assists, while Addi Bettis and Mariah Miller each added 10 kills.
• Sadie Lippard anchored the defense with a career-high 33 digs marking her third consecutive game with over 20 digs.
• Rymer dished out 26 assists, with Bun adding 25 assists and three service aces.
